The Royal Starr Film Festival, an international four day movie gala celebrated in downtown Royal Oak, Michigan, kicks off its sophomore season this October featuring more than 100 screenings of shorts, features, & documentaries. [S-b03-s08]

Catch of the Day (Geraint Huw Reynolds/ United Kingdom) This is a story of timeless love, with an extraordinary twist at the end. As Dylan cares for his dying wife, Gwen, he relives bittersweet memories of their long and happy life together. Dawn breaks and Gwen dies. Returning to the sea shore where they first met, Dylan allows the waves to claim him. The screenplay is based on the short story that won first prize in the 2014 Rhys Davies Short Story Competition.


In a Dream (Edina Kishonthy / United States) A young woman tries to find a mysterious Mr. Right who keeps visiting her in her dreams at night, but constantly eludes her in real life.

KATE, a young office worker and aspiring pet portrait painter, is determined to find a mysterious man who keeps appearing in her dreams at night. Her acerbic co-worker and best friend, HEATHER, does not share Kate's conviction the Dream Man even exists and she begins to get seriously concerned about her friend's state of mind when Kate sets out on a desperate quest to find the man based on clues she believes to be receiving from him. During her search, she goes through awful dates and mishaps – but the surprise ending provides revelations about the triumph of true friendship, the benefits of adopting a pet, and the importance of following our dreams.
